Beginning September 1 and thanks to the passing of House Bill 1518 in the Texas legislature, Texans no longer have to wait until noon to get their drink on. The new rule allows the purchase of beer and wine to start at 10 a.m. rather than the existing 12 p.m on Sunday.
However, liquor stores still get the day off.
So, you can order mixed drinks from a restaurant starting at 10 am, you can have them delivered to your home or you can pick them up yourself. That’s all legal.
But you can’t walk into a liquor store and buy your own personal liquor.
Sure, that makes sense. Right?
