Executive Chef Chris Lopez at BLVD Seafood has worked in the restaurant business for over 15 years and is now a permanent Galveston island resident. He was one of thes executive chefs at Yaga’s in Galveston and now at BLVD. Seafood, which is situated right on the seawall.
Lopez graduated culinary school in Atlanta and then honed his seafood and shellfish skills in Seattle. At BLVD. Seafood, he has curated an interesting and eccentric menu showcasing fresh Gulf seafood, traditional coastal dishes and irresistable southern delights.
As for the food, this is noted as a refreshingly updated spin on Gulf seafood. One of many great Galveston seafood restaurants and one of the most popular on the seawall, they are known for outstanding grouper and red snapper preparations, try them broiled, fried, blackened, grilled, and especially pecan-crusted. They are all so delicious.
BLVD. also has an original appetizer list you won’t find anywhere else. Suggested is the Mexican-inspired shrimp-and-crabmeat cocktail called Campechana, as well as Hawaiian-style Tuna Poke. The popular Flat Fish Stack is a sautéed flounder fillet topped with a crab cake in rich Mornay sauce. No where else in Galveston, this place is uniquely culinary.
The service here is incredible. The servers are helpful and attentive and the management is available to help when needed. BLVD. Seafood in Galveston is a must stop anytime you want something fresh and different!
From BLVD Seafood Google Reviews:
“This is our second visit to BLVD Seafood. We came back to Galveston anticipating a return to this awesome place. It’s easy to miss driving down Seawall but do yourself a favor and keep an eye out for this gem. The Crab Stuffed Shrimp appetizer is our favorite, but we got BLVD Campechana… OMG! Also try the Gumbo, Blackberry Pork Chop! Do Not Miss This Place!”
“Food is exceptional. Very pricey, building and interior is nothing to brag about. If you are looking for a fancy dinner, this is not the place. If you want good food and are willing to pay for the quality, not the surroundings, stop here.”
“Our food was truly delicious and fresh! The chowder was AMAZING! I would recommend this over any of the giant chain restaurants on the island… Great happy hour, wonderful fresh seafood menu and attentive/helpful service from our waiter.”
