East End Lagoon – 100 Boddeker Road
East End Lagoon Nature Preserve is a 684-acre is one of few remaining areas of undeveloped coastal prairie and salt marsh on the island.
The area is home to a diverse collection of birds and marine mammals that thrive in the brackish waters found here.
For the last several years, the Galveston Park Board’s East End Lagoon Advisory Committee has made great strides for the preserve which include an ADA accessible trail loop with interpretive signage, as well as clearing space for parking and enhanced access to the boat launch to allow for human-powered vessels like kayaks and paddleboards.
