The Galveston Women’s Conference is Thursday October 28, 2021 at the Moody Gardens Convention Center on Galveston Island, Texas. This day-long educational event celebrates, inspires and motivates women to strive for the best in both their personal and professional lives.

Oscar-nominated actress, author and healthy-lifestyle advocate Mariel Hemingway will serve as the keynote speaker, and the President and Chief Growth Officer at Splunk, Teresa Carlson, will serve as an honorary speaker.

Hemingway will share her own evocative story about growing up in a home where there were great challenges to inspire others to do the same, thereby cultivating compassion and understanding and breaking down the stigma so often associated with the discussion of mental illness.

As President and Chief Growth Officer at Splunk, Teresa Carlson leads the efforts to align and drive the organization’s ongoing business transformations across Splunk’s go-to-market segments.

Most recently, Carlson served as Vice President, Worldwide Public Sector and Industries, for Amazon Web Services (AWS). She has a passion for empowering women in the technology field which led to the creation of “We Power Tech” during her time at AWS, which works to ensure underrepresented groups are reflected in all outreach efforts.

The conference will also feature prominent physicians from UTMB Health to address topics of health and wellness that are of interest to today’s women and a vendor marketing featuring over 100 businesses across the region.
