Fish Company Taco Reopens
Fish Company Taco, a beloved Galveston eatery, has reopened under new ownership after its closure in October 2023. Raz Halili, owner of Pier 6 Seafood & Oyster House and Prestige Oysters, acquired the restaurant in spring 2024, including its original recipes and branding.
The restaurant, located at 1914 23rd Street, underwent significant renovations before reopening in September 2024. Enhancements include an updated kitchen and bathroom, new flooring, and the addition of a full-service bar, replacing the previous BYOB format. The interior now features vibrant murals by artist Shelbi Nicole, creating a fresh and inviting atmosphere.
The menu retains fan-favorite tacos such as the Baja, Korean, Vietnamese, Empire, and Dirty South, all prepared with locally sourced seafood from Katie’s Seafood Market. New offerings include daily crudo specials and sides like chili-marinated cucumbers and Brussels sprouts with apple gastrique. The beverage program, developed by consultants Laurie Harvey and Kris Sowell of Ladies of Libation, features tropical cocktails and mocktails, including the Pineapple Verde and the Lime in the Coconut.
Currently, Fish Company Taco operates for lunch from 11 a.m. . They recently introduced a special Happy Hour from 2p p.m. to 4 p.m., and now also serve dinner from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday.
