The Galveston Beach Family Challenge is designed to team up families to compete in fun games and activities suitable for everyone of all ages. The challenge will transform a portion of Galveston’s East Beach into a gigantic obstacle course, allowing families to compete in life-size versions of classic games.
From the official website, the story behind the challenge:
“We believe in family values and when you combine those with a fun beach challenge you can only get life-time memories with your loved ones.”
This year’s challenge will take place on June 12, 2022 at East Beach in Galveston.
This is a great way to involve the whole family for a day of friendly competition right on a Galveston beach!
Designed to create a fun environment for the entire family. Bring everyone, this beach challenge is ideal for the youngest to the oldest and has been created with that in mind.
The Galveston Beach Family Challenge consists of 14 Stations that allow family members (and even their friends) to compete one on one – or as a family – against another participating family.
Each family has the opportunity to participate no more than five times per station in a period of 4.5 hours.
Just like you’ve seen on TV, friendly competition among families makes for so much more fun because everyone gets involved. This helps teach the younger family members the purpose of teamwork, while still having fun.
The Galveston Beach Challenge is the first to offer family-friendly activities on the beach in Galveston, suitable for kids and adults.
The course includes 14 stations for kids and adults with eight new stations this year, including a bean bag game, a life-size battle ship game, limbo, volley balloon, “beam” bag, giant Connect Four and more.
Join in for the comradery as well as the fun and amazing prizes for the winners. Everyone wins and some get medals and trophies too. The event is free and participants will have a chance to win the grand prize of a $500 gift card plus tickets to popular Galveston attractions.
“Galveston Challenge is so much fun, we love every obstacle, specially the volleyball and the giant Jenga, will definitely keep participating for future events.”
