Carriage Haus has a beautiful new location on Broadway that looks like a museum inside. Not only that, this is golf cart rental with a twist. These are electric golf carts that are modified to look just like a Ford Model-T, some even have that familiar “Aooga” sound.
From the website:
“In our devoted love for this historic and vibrant city we call Galveston, Carriage Haus Rentals is proud to provide a prototype of the famed 1908 Ford Model-T. This golf cart vehicle truly pays homage to Henry Ford, retaining much of his noble and charming vision.”
“It must have been a real marvel to see hundreds of Model-T’s lined up all along the seawall back in the early 1900’s as their owners enjoyed a wonderful day at the beach.”
“Veronica and Brett Von Blon (owners of Carriage Haus Rentals) hope that driving our electric golf carts around town will bring you back to a much simpler place in time.”

Yes, you should probably take a look at the Galveston City Ordinance regarding golf carts. Golf carts cannot be driven on sidewalks, you must wear a seatbelt, you may not exceed the number of passengers designated for your cart size.
There are hefty fines for violating the city ordinance, so be sure to follow all of the galveston golf cart rules. Costs can be around $250 per violation. In addition to local laws you must follow all the “rules of the road” – remember that not all drivers are accustomed to interacting with golf carts on the road. Be sure to keep that in mind for any Galveston golf cart rental, and your island fun will be even better.
