NEW Galveston Community Fridge

galveston community fridge

You may have heard about a group of passionate UTMB students that are working to address food needs with a new concept called a community fridge, sometimes referred to as a “freedge”.

The idea behind a community fridge is to share food and prevent food waste. It’s supplied and operated by volunteers within the community. A new community fridge is available in Galveston, which is meant to accept donations and provide free food to anyone who needs it. In other words, “take what you need, leave what you don’t.”

The Galveston Community Fridge is available at 4628 Avenue Q Galveston, TX 77551, located at God’s Kingdom and Restoration Ministries.

If you’d like to donate, the community fridge is accepting all products mentioned below! No raw meat, but deli meat is accepted.

Just drop off at the fridge/pantry at 4628 Avenue Q in Galveston (map)
