New Galveston Cruise Terminal Under Construction at Pier 16

Construction Officially Underway for Galveston’s 4th Cruise Terminal
The new MSC terminal complex will be located at Galveston Wharves Pier 16. Construction on the new terminal began in August 2024 and is scheduled for completion in time for MSC Seascape’s inaugural sailing from Galveston in November 2025.
Pier 16, strategically positioned near the existing cruise terminals, will provide convenient access for passengers, with expanded parking and proximity to Galveston’s vibrant downtown district.
Construction at the Port of Galveston involves converting an existing cargo warehouse into the port’s fourth cruise terminal.
The $151 million cruise complex at Pier 16 will include a 165,000-square-foot terminal and a $55 million parking garage.
MSC Seascape to Call Galveston Port Home in 2025
Galveston, Texas, is set to welcome MSC Cruises as its newest homeport, with the MSC Seascape beginning year-round sailings from the island in November 2025. This marks a significant expansion for MSC Cruises, making Galveston its fourth U.S. homeport after Miami, Port Canaveral, and New York.
