Reel In Hunger Fishing Tournament

April 29 @ 6:00 am – May 1 @ 4:00 pm at 61st Street Fishing Pier

The Galveston 61st Fishing Pier located at 6101 Seawall Blvd is hosting this tournament on behalf of the Galveston County Food Bank (GCFB).

The Galveston County Food Bank’s mission is to provide easy access to nutritional food for the economically disadvantaged, under served populations of Galveston County.

A large percentage of the proceeds go directly to GCFB.

Here are the rules for the fishing tournament:
$30 entry fee includes admission for day of enrollment.
Winning fish has the longest length by inches in ¼ inch increments. Excluded are ribbon fish, any type of eels or snakes, and stingrays.

Prizes are awarded for 1st place and Runner Up:
1st place – 25% of registration pot and Runner Up – 15% of registration pot

In the event of a tie, the first catch takes precedence

Contest begins at 6:00 am Friday April 29 and ends 4:00 pm Sunday May 1.

Participants must have a valid wristband for each day they fish and contestant must be entered in the tournament before a catch can be considered.

Catch must be measured, photographed, and recorded by a pier employee, catch is measured from the tip of the mouth to the end of the tail, catch must be caught at the 61st Fishing Pier.

Two rod maximum per participant with a 10 foot maximum. Do not have to be present to win.

Pier rules and regulations, including Texas Parks and Wildlife standards must be followed at all times. Violations will be disqualified.
