The Kitchen Chick Announces Closing
We wanted to make sure it wasn’t an April Fools “gotcha” before sharing the social media posts. Surprisingly, it’s true…The Kitchen Chick is shutting down for good. Owner Alicia Cahill announced April 1 that she is closing her popular downtown shop “The Kitchen Chick”, located at 2402 Market Street in Galveston.
On social media, Cahill said “THANK YOU! I don’t think you know how much you mean to me. Thank you for sharing a moment, a season or a lifetime of you with me.”
“After nearly 10 years in business I have made the decision to close The Kitchen Chick. Your friendship and support has meant everything to me. We have laughed, shed a few tears and made lots of delicious food together over the years. It has been my privilege to work with you, to know you, your friends, your kids and your families. You have made my life so special and meaningful, my cup runneth over.”
It seems there is something more in the works as Cahill went on to say: “…rather than call this good-bye, let’s just say see you later.”
She and the store will definitely be missed. Replies on Instagram were heartfelt:
“…we will miss your shop but thrilled for your next adventure! 💗💗💗”
“😭 a sad moment but excited for you ❤️”
“Awww…. So bittersweet! But blessings to you on your next adventure! 🙏💗”
