Tortuga’s in Galveston is located right on the seawall with a casual environment and an ocean view. This laid back Mexican restaurant has seafood selections as well as traditional Mexican plates and great margaritas.
Every table is seated with fresh chips and a famous hot roasted salsa that is made fresh in house.
Tortuga’s also has great appetizers and drink specials.
Tortuga Mexican Kitchen is one of the few chain restaurants located on Galveston Island. They have fantastic Baja shrimp tacos as well as fish tacos that you have to try. They also have delicious fajitas.
The Galveston location is on Seawall with a large dining room and outside dining as well. Sit under the covered patio and watch the tourists and the waves as you enjoy a delicious Tex-Mex meal.

The food was hysterically delicious! Two out of three of us are from Texas and are kind of picky about our Mexican food. Most is decent, Tortuga was amazing!
The salsa has a delicious smokey flavor. We also ordered the queso.
For lunch we had the stuffed avocado, a lunch combo plate of tostada, enchilada and taco, and a taco plate. We will go back every Galveston trip!
