Take a short drive to the west side of Galveston Island via Seawall which turns into Hwy 3005 or just take Stewart Road west to Waterman’s Restaurant in Galveston, a three-story building with good food and great views.
Located right on western Galveston Bay, this is a great place for lunch, dinner and sunsets. As you enter, you’ll find a casual first floor food and bar area which is right next to the full-serve marina. This is a great choice for casual lunch or for having drinks with friends.
The restaurant was designed to be reminiscent of an upscale resort. The interior features timbers salvaged from a few of Galveston’s oldest buildings and are more than 100 years old.
Upstairs you’ll find oversized windows with gorgeous views, comfortable contemporary furnishings, and a place to relax.
With the most spectacular sunset view on the island, the Waterman Restaurant offers everything needed for that special get away dining experience. xpansive outdoor decks overlook the Galveston Bay along with the finest seafood available makes Waterman’s Restaurant an experience you won’t want to miss. Ordered takeout here and it was delicious. The shrimp kisses and the seafood treasure chest were great. We were sad not to get the in person experience but hey, it’s a pandemic. We’ll definitely come back!
I had the broiled shrimp stuffed with crab, with mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables. Delicious. My hubs ordered the redfish which he said was fantastic. We were tempted by dessert but had no room left. Next time! Beautiful venue on the water at sunset also.
We enjoyed a wonderful meal there this week. The appetizers were delicious, as were the meals and deserts. The bacon-wrapped shrimp are some of the best I’ve ever had!
Our meals were excellent! Loved the Bloody Mary; great rolls! The fried seafood was really good. Surprisingly, the French fries were THE best!! We usually just leave the fries if we cannot substitute but these were some of the best we’ve ever had!
