The Sunflower Bakery Galveston current location is in Galveston’s historic East End. They started more than twenty years ago as a small bakery (16th and Church) serving up delicious bakery items, cold sandwiches, and soup. It didn’t take long before word caught on and soon a visit required a significant wait in line just to get in. Within a couple of years, their success gave the opportunity to open a restaurant at a second location and with a fantastic dining experience that matched their delicious breakfasts.
It’s hard to pick your favorites from the amazing selection of pastries, sandwiches, and salads. Stay awhile and enjoy the great service or just stop in and grab a few bakery items and homemade sandwiches for later. Everything is made from scratch and as they say, they cook the way they would want to eat.

Their pancakes, waffles, and french toast are also popular items, served up syrup and some with fresh berries. If you’re looking for something on the lighter side, they have a selection of pastries and yogurt bowls.

Who else has a brunch every day? Our fav brunch specialty is the Benedict Turf & Turf, which has toasted English muffin, two filet mignon, a poached egg and Hollandaise sauce, served with breakfast potatoes. WOW!
And, of course, no visit to the Sunflower Bakery would be complete without one of their famous grilled cinnamon rolls! Whatever you’re in the mood for, you’ll find it at the Sunflower Bakery. If not that, then grab the biscuits and strawberry butter.

Previously Sunflower Bakery Cafe was open daily Monday-Sunday, currently they are closed on Tuesday so plan your visit accordingly. If you are an early bird, visit the restaurant at 7am for a great meal, delicious breakfast pastries with coffee, or a traditional egg and bacon breakfast.
Lunch at The Sunflower Bakery & Cafe
Lunch is served from 11am until 5pm and the lunch menu is equally impressive and once again offers some unique food choices. Fresh gulf seafood is always a local favorite, as are cold and hot homemade sandwiches. They also offer some gluten-free food options on the menu.
Did we mention the the famous tomato basil soup! Okay, yes we did.
No option for delivery, but the restaurant does offer takeout if you are in a hurry or having a typical Monday morning. According to the reviews, this is a place that is best kept aside for one of those leisurely meals where you can stay for a minute. Take your time and enjoy everything about this dining experience!
